Just discovered. Weapons are release blocked if nozzles are not at zero full back.

If using VIFing , weapons are blocked from releases (safed) until nozzles are fully back to zero.  Guns (AG and AA),rockets, missiles won't fire when nozzles are angled. Master  Arm is ON. Gear UP, Flaps AUTO.

Was it always like that?  I can see reason for that, perhaps. Could be that exhaust from missile, rocket, guns, may interfere with airflow from nozzles and create some thrust asymmetry. Leading asymmetric stall. Which would cause uncommanded roll. But I have no way of testing that in the sim. is DCS: AV-8B flight model that deep, that local turbulence and vortex flows are modeled. Used to be on NASA site, there was a PDF on Harrier dynamics and engine surging in high turbulence air environments. Like those around ship islands, or buildings for Harrier operations in confined environments. There were all sorts of dynamic fluid (compressible) simulations with vectors.

It's not at 0, but the 30 degrees is the boundary. Set nozzles at more than 30 degrees and you won't be able to use weapons

Also, it wasn't always like that, but it was a while since that was added
