Flappie Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 OK. Your log doesn't tell much about the crash. Can you please attach the dcs.log file showing your latest crash? Also, ensure your brand new RTX3090 is well seated in its slot. ---
Spger40 Posted December 13, 2020 Author Posted December 13, 2020 Hello Flappie, I tested the card extensively, everything is ok. So it now crashes reproducibly. dcs.log-20201213-154507.zip
Flappie Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Thanks. No new clue in the log. We're blind on what could be the cause. Although this doesn't look like a memory crash, and even if your PC was fine before with another graphics card, I'd like you to try setting your pagefile to a minimum of 32 GB. Here's how to do it: Start Menu and click on Settings. Type performance. Choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows. In the new window, go to the Advanced tab and under the Virtual memory section, click on Change. Uncheck the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives box at the top. Select your fastest drive (C:\, right? I see it has a lot of free space). Set an initial size of 32 GB. Set a maximum size of 32 GB - or 64 GB, as you wish. Click Set, then OK. If the crashes still appear after his, get back in the same option panel and let Windows manage the pagefile automatically. ---
Spger40 Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 Everything didn't work. So I have now found the crash can be reproduced again and again, as soon as you switch to navigation mode. Other suggestions?
Flappie Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Interesting. Which aircraft is that? You should try repairing the aircraft files. Here's how to do it: Go to "\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\" and delete the folder named after the aircraft which crashes DCS. Run the cleanup and repair procedure. ---
Spger40 Posted December 15, 2020 Author Posted December 15, 2020 Su-33 Camp 7.miz is affected in Su-33 Sea Dragon. and Camp 6 too, at Camp 5 I'm no longer sure. Everything that came before that ran. I think that has nothing to do with the graphics card. That was purely by chance, because I just continued the campaign after the renovation. Thanks for your help.
Flappie Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 OK. Let us know if the issue reappears. ---
Flappie Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 It seems the crashes you were having are due to a bug that was fixed in current open beta version. The patch will eventually make it to the release ("stable") version of the game, but probably not before at least a week. 1 ---
Spger40 Posted December 16, 2020 Author Posted December 16, 2020 I tested it, so everything is working again in the current Open Beta.
Flappie Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Great. Next time the release version gets updated, the bug will be no more. ---
