[CORRECT AS IS] F/A-18C AG Radar EXP 1 button

AG radar works ok initially after selecting it:

After marking a spot to target and pressing EXP 1 button to zoom in there is a black fan shape around the target marker:

Moving the radar antenna elevation to different positions does not remove this shape.

The DCS version is open beta v2.5.6.58125.

Are there radar settings that will remove the black fan shape from the target area?

Pretty sure is normal behavior due doppler effect. You should select a target offset to either side or maneuver the aircraft to have the target not directly in front of you.

IIRC wags mentions this on one of the introduction videos about the ground radar

Thanks for your reply. I'm not familiar with how the doppler effect would cause a black patch to appear on a radar screen except for the type of surface such as water. The black patch in the screenshot does not show water. FA-18 pilots can't operate with an AG radar where a target cannot be selected. Are you sure this is how the radar should operate!?

This is from doppler effect. Try scanning from an offset azimuth.
