sideshow Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) Just tried updating, and got an error which states incorrect data. It opened a log, which I've included. It appears this has something to do with unpacking a file? Anyone know hotw to fix this? ED Team c0ff Posted December 18, 2020 ED Team Posted December 18, 2020 Most probably it is a hardware failure (CPU or memory if overclocked, or a loose cable/dying HDD/SDD). If next attempts give you exactly the same error, then the failure happened when the file was being downloaded and now its disk copy is bad. In this case delete the _downloads\Mods/terrains/Caucasus/Surface/Caucasus.surface5.* file and start update again. It will redownload the file (it's several GBs, sorry). Dmitry S. ribeye Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 (edited) I have the same problem. Gets to that exact point your installation does then has the exact same error. I'm leery of it unpacking before it gets downloaded completely but I don't know. On my older HP machine it installs fine. My new IBuyPower gaming machine I got for playing DCS is the one having this problem. Edited February 15, 2021 by ribeye updated
Flappie Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 @sideshow, @ribeye Hi, try adding these folders as exceptions in your antivirus: \DCS World\ (or \DCS World OpenBeta\ ) C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\ ( or DCS.openbeta\ ) ---
sideshow Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 Thanks. I did back to back repairs and finally got it to work. Had never experienced that, and I haven't hade any issues since, so all is well.
Flappie Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 @sideshowGreat news. Thanks for your feedback. @ribeyeYou know what you have to do: cleanup and repair procedure. ---
