markturner1960 Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Hi, as title, I have started getting a device unplugged message and hearing a windows sound when in game , 3 times today for example. Then, the auto stop sequence runs ( according to the screen message!) The devices are usually Track ir ( even though its not running) and lately my winwing throttle and rudders.....( although these dont appear to stop working in the sim) These devices are plugged into a powered hub. Any ideas what may be the cause and how to remedy please? Thanks System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
Flappie Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 If you hear Windows sounds when they go away, it means it's system-wise. You can try the USB Log View freeware to monitor USB events. I've used it for my work not so long ago and it was quite handy. I'm not sure you will get sufficient information to understand what's going on, but it's worth a try since it's free and safe to use. ---
markturner1960 Posted December 22, 2020 Author Posted December 22, 2020 The windows plug / unplug sounds are not always heard. How is the autostop being started do you think? That cant be system related surely? thanks System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.

Make an autoexec.cfg file in your saved games\dcs\config folder if you haven't already, and add the following line: no_device_hotplug = true This is a trick normally reserved to remedy stuttering, but it's also worth a try in your case I think :-) Spoiler Ryzen 9 5900X | 64GB G.Skill TridentZ 3600 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X570-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 960Pro 1TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero Pro Flight Trainer Puma | VIRPIL MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | Virpil CM3 throttle | Virpil CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | TPR rudder pedals OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings
markturner1960 Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Will try that thx.......only seems to happen when I have track ir turned on........ System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
markturner1960 Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 I added the .cfg edit, and made sure the resulting box in the controller options is selected. I am still getting USB connect/ disconnect noises during gameplay, but they don’t throw up any on screen messages like before & don’t cause the auto shutdown anymore so that’s progress. is there anyway to check what is being “unplugged” and why?
