[SOLVED] Target designation in CCIP mode

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi,

I don't know if it is a bug but the CCIP designation is made at the top of the cross in the stable version 2.5.6.59625.

See the screenshot. I used the active pause to show the problem.

Thanks,

Vincent

Yep, that's a bug. Should be the center of the pipper.

If you don't have anything designated on the DMT already then in CCIP mode a designation will occure via the CCIP crosshairs whenever the pickle button is pressed, I suspect its this that has happened as I just tried out both methods of function and they seem to be working as they should, are you able to replicate the issue and maybe include a trackfile for us to look at?

This is weird, so I loaded up your track file and took over just before your first designation, as you can see it works as it should, however studying your track a little more you'll notice that for whatever reason your desigate command also looks to be changing the bomb mode from CCIP to Auto, hence the solid bomb fall line - I think then that maybe you may have a duplicated command on whatever you're using as the TDC down (action button) and that somehow has screwed with the input?

I could be wrong.. but the CCIP pipper is dashed meaning it is below the HUD and reflected. Under these circumstances, designating should revert to AUTO mode as the designated point is not really at the pipper.

Kind of like in this video

Theres a difference between pressing the TDC down (action button) to designate a target over the velocity marker and pressing the pickle button (long or short) for a tarket point, if you're trying to attempt the later then perhaps I've got my wires crossed.

Yes, CCIP revert to AUTO with a displaced target point, not centered on the CCIP cross.

I don't have duplicated controls and didn't touch the TDC before.

Soz vctpil, totally my misunderstanding - I've since encountered the same bug when in CCIP mode and pressing the pickle button to designate, the area designated is indeed at the top of the crosshair and ever so slightly to the right (as per your original screenshot), it's therefore bugged.

Will wait until the team is back from vacation to see if the designation point ( center or top of CCIP pipper) has changed mysteriously unbeknownst to us. Once the team is back and looking into it I will come back and mark as needed.

Has been confirmed with the SME and reported. Issue seemed to have occurred when the HUD was moved to SVG format.
