CommandT Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) Hi folks, I'm just doing the DCS training missions for the AV-8B and having just done the guns and rockets training mission I am super puzzled... so it seems like sometimes the gun will let me fire and sometimes not. My trigger is working perfectly so it's not a stuck button. Is this a bug or am I just not withholding some sort of necessary parameters? I don't see anything in the manual. I tried to test various speeds and throttle changes and I figured that at idle thrust it wont let you fire at all and based on engine rpm I can't quite figure out when it does and doesn't let you fire. What's the trick? Edited December 26, 2020 by CommandT
Gunnar81 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 The gun is actuated by a certain engine RPM (as IRL). I can't remember the exact value but when you are diving in for a gun run you have to be at speed not idled down. I want to say its 75-80% rpm...

You'd have thought this should have been said in the training mission or chuck's guide. Thanks for that. I'll experiment and figure it out.
HornedGod Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 To fire guns your nozzles also have to be at 29 degrees or less.
