Trying to get my head around using the AFM84E (SLAM). For some reason I get no datalink video feed when the missile gets within the programmed distance. This is what I do:

  1. Wait until SLAM is RDY
  2. Set the FLT (usually HIGH as I'm training on the mountaneous NTTR map)
  3. Set DIST to 10nm
  4. Set EFUZE to INST
  5. Set MODE to TOO
  6. Set the coordinates (using FLIR)
  7. Ensure the DL13 is set to correct Channel (station 8 or 2)
  8. Fly to within range
  9. Launch missile

I then slow down and wait. If I display stores on the other display there is no "TTS" value displayed and when missile gets within the programmed range I get no video feed.

Am I missing some basic step?

Are you selecting the weapon for the datalink, i.e. pressing WEP, then selecting the SLAM station?  Once that is done, then the TTS will show.

Nope. I’ll try that. Thanks!
