Hello to everyone. I want to define the 2-position button of the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog joystick in the photo below as AIR REFUEL Switch - CLOSE and OPEN for the F16 plane. But when it moves forward only when 1 position is active, it works as OPEN. Normally when I put it back it should be closed. But it is not possible to assign any key or movement to the back position. Can you help me with this

This script for the TARGET software enables you to bind every single switch position of your TM HOTAS Warthog.

Note: You have to reset the most bindings within DCS when you use this script.

Another option is to manually add a special action in the .lua file for your desired ON/OFF state. After editing the .lua you're able to bind the button/switch within DCS (via Options/Controls) to the new generated action.

If you want to play with adding it in the LUA files, do a search in this thread and you'll likely find the code you need for that.  Just make sure it's for the aircraft you want.

Straight in DCS controls this is not possible since there is no separate DX button for the OFF state.

You need to go with additional software like Target Joystick Gremlin or so or edit the lua to make it happen.

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

And to add to this for your understanding: think of the switch as a key on your keyboard.  When you move it forward the computer senses it as an active press and sends a signal (as if you were pressing and holding down the key on the keyboard) so it will cause something to happen and can be bound.  When you move it backwards it's like letting taking your finger off the key.  It stops sending a signal rather than actively sending something, so you can't directly bind it since it the computer isn't detecting any signal from it.  The way to get around this is to play with the LUA to make it do something based on the ABSENCE of a signal, or use other software to do the same.

I use the target script from ReflexArc (linked by AstonMartinDBS) mostly due to the inability to bind correctly refill port and A/P modes on Viper, and I don’t want to mess with LUA files that I have to restore after every single update, it works perfect and now i use this way on all my modules
