Cnuns Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 I've just dusted off the HOTAS cougar to get set up for my first journey into DCS. I'm having a lot of trouble with the configuration of the throttle RDR Cursor/ Enable microstick. Problem: In the DCS controller configuration menu on axis commands, the microstick won't assign to any commands. I believed that maybe it wasn't enabled on the default profile for the cougar. Solutions I've tried: I tried downloading the cougar control panel driver from TM but it won't recognize that my device is connected. Which means I cant even toggle the microstick on or off. I'm at a total loss and was wondering if anyone ran into similar issues. Thanks in advance for any help!
Lange_666 Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 To setup your Cougar under a 64-bit environment (if not already done so), you need this: https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/152816-hotas-cougar-software-on-a-modern-windows After that, you should have everything you need, including the CCP. 1 Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
Cnuns Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 I got the CCP working thanks! This is what it looks like: I noticed that the Microstick was automatically turned off. I downloaded the new axis setup to my device and loaded up DCS. Still, DCS won't recognize that the microstick is moving.
Rudel_chw Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 If on the above CCP, you click on "Viewer” ... does the microstick works? Or is it only DCS the one that doesn’t recognize it? For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

However, when I calibrate the controller it shows up What do you mean it doesnt show up? The viewer show all the Cougar axes .. on mine it looks like this: The Microstick X axis is labeled ZR and the Y is S2. Please note that only the first 8 axes are visible on DirectX, so you have to make sure to have the Microstick plus signs set within the first 8 axes. 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

But as for ZR and S2, any time I move the microstick there is no change. Windows for some reason won't recognize it.

Try this .. on the CCP tick on "Apply enable/disable Windows axes state" For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
