Disable flight stick in cockpit when using VR possible?

Hi,

is it possible to completely disable the flight stick in the cockpit when using VR and not just hide it?

I´m playing with Reverb G2 ant it´s controller. Really awesome. But when I try to switch or turn buttons

which are somehow behind the flightstick, the hand is grabbing it 5 to 7 out of 10 times and everything goes crazy.

This is really annoying, so I want to disable it.

I tried searching, but wasn´t able to find something.......

cheers

Why not just toggle it off (hide I assume you mean) and leave it off?

The VR hands grabbing it regardless if it is hidden or not. So i want to have it completely gone.

This is cool as long as you want to fly it completely with the WMR controller..... but I want to use my HOTAS only.

to my knowledge there is no capability that would meet your specific requirement; many users if using a joystick utilise a mouse or trackball for control actuation as you dont have to constantly put the controller on, or some users just use the VR hands for the whole experience, you are the first i have seen (i'm sure there are more) that use joystick and VR hands ...

for reference you dont actually say " I use the VR hands to turn knobs, press buttons and witch switches in the VR cockpit"

I use either the mouse or the mouse functions I have assigned in the UI Layer to buttons on my stick, whichever is more convenient for what I am doing at the time. Just for grins I tried my Reverb G2 controllers but got too frustrated too fast I guess.

If the stick / throttle is hidden = no input can be given to it with VR hands.

That is how it should be, but clearly it is not then. I have not witnessed myself accidentally grabbing the invisible stick or throttle when using VR hands, but I have not purposely tried even when I move my hand a lot around their location.

@speed-of-heat: you are right. maybe this was some misleading.

I came from Track-IR with 3 monitors and I was using the mouse before with the Rift S, because the controller was not usable in the cockpit.

Now with the Reverb G2 it is really good (view and controls) and I removed my homepit with the TM MFDs and my self built UFC. If you put the
WMR controller close to the HOTAS, then it is easy to grab them w/o taking a look. Actually its the same as using the mouse on the knees.

You can move the hands around w/o issues. If you want to change a switch/knob/press a button, you have to press the thumb button on the WMR controller.

Then you can use the VR-Finger or the VR Laserpointer to aim and change states. This is working surprisingly good if you give it a try and get used to it.

The big BUT is, it is working as long as the flightstick is not in the way (hidden or not). If it is and you press the grab button on the WMR controller, the hand

grabs the stick and steers the hornet. This happens mostly if you try to use the MPCD or the counter measures panel.

I think this is a bug then and I should post it in the bug section......
