sirrah Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here, or if I'm overlooking something maybe, but when contacting Supercarrier ATC, most of my calls do not seem to be recognized within DCS. My "inbound" call is working - it results in me getting directions for the Marshal stack. But none of the other ATC calls seem to be received: Established - no response Commencing - no response Check in - no response Platform - no response Ball - no response I triple checked my radio frequency and correct mic switch (but if that were to be wrong, my inbound call also wouldn't be recognized, so that can't be the issue here) I do however hear the small beep sound from VAICOM (the acknowledge beep for receiving a correct audio input) Also, I tested my voice calls in the VAICOM "editor keywords" tab and all my calls are recognized for 95% I'm using VAICOM version 2.5.24.0 (release) I'm on latest DCS OB version Aside from the Supercarrier comms, VAICOM is working just fine. But one of the main advantages of VAICOM should be voice activated Supercarrier comms, so it's really annoying this specific part ain't working.. But how do I ensure that I'm calling out to the carrier then? (instead of one of the other ships) I tried saying "marking moms" and even though my voice command was detected in VAICOM (with confidence 95%), ATC didn't reply. I also tried: "Roosevelt Inbound" and that way ATC did reply with marshal instructions, although when checking the VA log, I saw that VA recognized this as two separate voice commands: "Roosevelt" and "Inbound", so it just responded to the latter.. resulting again in my "Commencing" call being recognized by VAICOM, but I don't get an ATC response.. Also, after my inbound call, when opening the radio menu, I'm in the carrier ATC menu, seeing all correct options (in this case for a CASE III): F1. abort inbound F2. Established F3. Commencing F4. Request azimuth and when I use the regular radio menu, all ATC works just fine all the way to the carrier... It's just not responding to my voice I really wish this would work, as I just purchased Operation Pontus and without this VAICOM functionality I'm missing out on a better experience Edit: I just tested the following: Created a mission with just one Supercarrier, one F-18 (player) and made sure to set both to the same freq. When in the mission, my "inbound" call works again, but no response on my "see you at 10".... Switched freq to a nearby airfield and all my calls were responded to like normal... I also quit all programs, deleted the export.lua file and restarted everything. But no results.. (Fwiw, I'm pretty sure that at least my "see you at 10" worked a few weeks ago) Edited January 31, 2021 by sirrah System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

sirrah Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) Anyone? I pretty much tried all combinations I could think off: Roosevelt, marking moms -> no response from atc Roosevelt -> small VA/VAICOM recognition beep -> no response from atc Marking moms -> small VA/VAICOM recognition beep -> no response from atc Inbound -> small VA/VAICOM recognition beep -> response from atc, but after getting instructions no response to any of my calls..... This is starting to get very frustrating and annoying.... Literally all my other calls are received and responded to (my flight/wingman, tankers, airfields, jtac).. Only and specifically my Supercarrier calls (except for inbound) are not received.. EDIT: I did just see this in my VA log: Could this be the problem? And if so, how can I solve this? In the VAICOM Editor keyword test, the words "marking moms" and "Roosevelt" individually, are recognized with 95%, but when saying "Roosevelt marking moms" it just recognizes Roosevelt and directly after that I get the "What's that?" message Edited February 1, 2021 by sirrah System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

Could you please point out where I can find the VA log file? Anyways... I think I found the problem... and, as usual with newcomers like me, the solution is very simple and straightforward... In the VA log, I see now, that each time I say "marking moms", VA log says: "Extended command set is currently disabled in preferences." I found this setting and its tooltip says I need the VAICOM Realistic ATC extension (which I haven't purchased yet, because I didn't know I needed it)...... In my defence: On the VAICOM licenses page, it says this: VAICOM PRO plugin license (separate purchase) Obtain your personal PRO license key to unlock the full featureset of the VAICOM PRO for DCS World plugin. This license provides you with access to all modules, the extended commands set and the complete range of available options and settings. This license does not include plugin extensions. After purchase you will be automatically redirected to download the installation files. Price: € 8,50 I purchased this and the kneeboard extension, thinking that would suffice, but apparently we need to buy a separate licence for the Supercarrier module. All fine by me, but it could be stated a bit more explicit in the above text. I'll purchase the Realistic ATC extension and report back here as soon as I get the chance to test it, to confirm if this solved my issue.
