Vekkinho Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Hi, I got many aircraft skins from user files and I wish to use these but almost all of them overwrite orignal skins. Is there a way of installing new skins and having these as a separate entry in a drop down list of selected AI/player aircraft in Mission planner? Been browsing the forum but couldn't find any how to instruction. Thanks. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Furiz Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) Yes, Saved Games/DCS/Liveries then choose the aircraft, if its not there create the folder, copy paste the aircraft folder name from the original liveries location, the folder name has to be the same as the original. Concentric Arc Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Here is some examples of where you need to install your skins. with proper naming conventions. If you don't have the folders create them. "3900" being the name of your computer. C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-16C_50 C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\FA-18C_Hornet C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\M-2000C C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\f-14b Here is a further example with some actual skin folders added. C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-16C_50\IAF F16C - 105 Squadron - The Scorpion C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\FA-18C_Hornet\Canada - 409 SQN - Tan C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\M-2000C\M2000 Ile de France Desert Storm v2.2 C:\Users\3900X\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\f-14b\VF-84 Jolly Rogers AJ200 (2000) Basically extract your skin folders to the plane folders that you will have to create. To find the correct naming convention for each plane look in these folders for future reference. The last folder being your reference. C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\F-5E\Liveries\F-5E-3 But do not install the liveries in your main game folder. Also if you are using the stable version of the game as opposed to the open beta version. The folder will be called "DCS World" as opposed to "DCS.openbeta" Ryzen 9 3900X, Gigabyte X570 Master MB, Gigabyte RTX2080S, G.Skill Trident Z 32GB 3600Mhz, Corsair MP600 2TB M.2, Corsair MP510 1Tb M.2, Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X case.
