I'm having a blast with the Thunderbolt, especially the early D-30, but I can't seem to get a good view of the reticle on the glass without having to do some finagling with my TrackIR. I have to hunch down then re-center the TrackIR, or stretch to very uncomfortable positions to get at least the bottom of the inner reticle ring on the glass. The head position from the D-40 and D-30 with the K-14 are great as you can utilize the majority of it without undue bobbing and weaving in the cockpit. It's only the Mk.8 that requires the armchair gymnastics to get a good view.

The first picture is a neutral head position from my TrackIR. The second is a 'better' sight picture, I suppose what I feel what we should be seeing, after my duck and re-center technique. This view is nearly impossible to maintain for any length of time while flying because of the constant need to re-center the view once you get into a dogfight. I don't know the specifications of the 'correct' head positioning for the Mk.8, but it seems like we are sitting far too low in the cockpit.

Is there a way to change the head position in the cockpit to get a better view without messing with something that will interfere with the server integrity checks, and will stay through updates. Barring I'm not completely in the wind about this could we get a stock view change from Eagle Dynamics that gives us a better sight picture through the Mk.8 reticle.

The gunsight position is fine.

Your virtual seating position is not.

You can adjust your camera position with RCTL + RSHIFT + NUMKEYS.

Or, if I messed up the combination, just go to settings and look for "move camera".

Cheers.
