Frostie
Your radar has no effect whatsoever on your opponents radar. If you dive you might drop out of his scan cone, but he/she will soon re-aquire you by lowering his radar scan zone to your altitude. Switching your radar off will stop giving your opponent a signal of your estimated position through his/her Radar Warning Receiver (TEWS) - which isnt a Radar. Azrayen
If you turn off your radar, you won't be displayed on the ennemy RWR. But his radar still can spot you (with correct settings), unless - you fly really low / behind the terrain mask - you beam him (but that's not compatible with "If im heading towards an enemy". ++ Az'

S77th-konkussion
ehhh.. I guess people could post them, but you'll have to watch a lot of ingress & egress, landings, etc to get to the specific action parts that you are looking for.. S77th-konkussion
heh.. I might embarrass myself, but next time I'm on I'll record & post it. However due to my month end schedule- you might want to appeal to the others here for quicker results in the meantime. I am stuck at work 13 hours a day at the end of the month. (every month) so to be perfectly honest- I'm pretty well beat by the time I get home. Ironhand
If im heading towards an enemy with radar on and no ECM it is clear he will have me spotted on his radar, if im at 15,000ft and turn off my radar completely and dive to the deck will i dissapear from his radar because im not emmitting any emmisions from my radar? As already mentioned, turning off your radar simply makes you disappear from his RWR. That can be important, if you are hoping to disappear completely and leave him completely uncertain as to what happened to you. However... The success of what you are trying to do totally depends on whether you are flying MP or SP. You will have more success online than you will against the AI and, then, only if the pilot facing you is either inexperienced or lazy. While still outside burn through range (the range at which the enemy's radar will see you through your jamming signal), turn on your jammer. This is to mask your disappearance. If you want, at the same time, turn off your radar. Then dive, if you are at high altitude or climb, if low. Level out at your new altitude and turn off your jammer. In MP, if nothing else, the enemy will have to find you again, while (in theory) you still know where he is. The AI, however, has no such difficulty. They always know where you are as long as you are out in front. You can dive and climb all you want. His radar will still be on you. The only time I have ever known the AI to lose me is, interestingly enough, WVR. If he's evading and turning away from me and I can get into his rear quadrant, he'll go back to flying his waypoints and forget all about me.
