redcoat22 Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 So on mission 2 and mission 3 I have had odd airspeed gauge problems on landing. The first mission, the gauge stopped working went to zero after my gear and flaps were down. The next mission (3) I'm on the downwind to land and the gauge hung up at 300 knots and never moved again despite throttling down to almost nothing. I landed at it still showed I was going 300 knots. I have never experienced this before on any F86 flight, so I'm not sure if its something I am doing wrong to break the gauge while landing or if this is some sort of bug.
Reflected Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 I’m pretty sure the pitot tube iced up. Turn on the pitot heating especially on such cold days. if that doesn’t help then it may be a bug, but then please report it in the F-86 section along with a track. I cannot fix module related bugs in the mission editor - it’s not a forced failure by the mission. Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
redcoat22 Posted March 11, 2021 Author Posted March 11, 2021 Now that you say that, it may have been it. Pretty cool if that is the case.
Japo32 Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Yes I noticed that also. The problem was that in other simulators (I don't know if that is the realistic way) once the pitot is iced, the speed is drop to cero in the IAS gauge. In this case, here the speed is "frozen" in the value the pitot was iced... so we may think that all is normal, until you relax power and the pointer don't fall. I suppose the realistic way is to drop the pointer to cero, as there won't be any pressure over it because there is a block of ice "blocking" that air into the pitot tube.
