Cowboy10uk Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) Hi guys, just built a new pc and I’m doing a fresh install of DCS and it’s modules. Having a slight issue at mo, where my downloads will start, get upto 7.2MB/s for about 30 seconds and then drop back down to 0.0KB/s for 45 seconds or so. And it just keeps doing that pattern. obviously it’s increasing my download time significantly, not to mention being downright annoying. Downloading from other sites and Steam there is no issue whatsoever. The download gets upto speed and sits there until it’s complete. Anyone got any ideas what the smeg is going on? Been using and updating DCS for years and not seen this on any other system I have. The image is from my current installer as it’s updating the log at the mo. as you can see each stop results in a message stating got incomplete data for mod xxxxxxxx resuming. Flappie Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Hi. Please attach your autoupdate_log.txt file. You'll find it in the main DCS folder ( \DCS World\or DCS World OpenBeta\ ). ---
Cowboy10uk Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 Here’s the one for my current download. autoupdate_log.txt [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
Flappie Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 I think your antivirus is having fun with DCS files (see here). Try adding the main DCS folder as an exception in your antivirus. Ad if it's not enough, disable your antivirus during the updating process. ---

Guess it could be windows firewall or windows antivirus not touched them [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
Flappie Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) Then I may be wrong. Windows antivirus doesn't do this on my rig. If you have a good internet connection, you can try emptying your \DCS World...\_downloads\ folder so the updater starts over. Edited March 12, 2021 by Flappie ---
Cowboy10uk Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 Ah smeg just put in exception, deleted download folder restarted pc, and it’s still blooming doing it. damn. Flappie Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) Maybe try closing your antivirus/antibloatware completely while updating. Edited March 12, 2021 by Flappie ---
