Pilotasso Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) Starting for the hard drives: WESTERN DIGITAL 640 AAKS. Very well priced too, unbeatable perfomance for the buck. Graphics card: Either the NVIDIA 280GTX (expensive) or radeon 4870 (cheaper). You could get the 9800GX2 for a great price too, but avoid the other double chip cards for now. Motherboard: Asus P5Q deluxe. Its all you need. CPU: C2D E8600 for dual or Q9550 Quad. The first is best for overclocking. Avoid the extreme versions. You could upgrade for a Nehalem along with the respective MOBO for the same price. PC case: Antec Twelve Hundred...you cant beat that one for cooling and price combo. They have never been pretty, but its damn efficient. Edited August 17, 2008 by Pilotasso .
hitman Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 If your trying to go for a budget, you can try an upgrade similar to mine...my case came with a radiator, pump, enough hose for attaching coolers to the GPUs, and a copper block for the CPU. Prices came down dramatically since I got these parts, wouldnt top 1500 bucks total now, down from 2700 I paid in parts 3 months ago. If you dont intend on doing SLI, I suggest sticking with an Intel motherboard and leave the nvidia bugs at the door.

Ramstein Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) I looked up the prices for the Antec Twelve Hundred. Amazon.com wants $175.00 plus shipping, and Newegg.com wants $200.00 Plus shipping. Damned nice case. :music_whistling: ----------- Starting for the hard drives: WESTERN DIGITAL 640 AAKS.
