VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Sorry if this has been answered before: i have made a trigger which fires when the user plane is above AGL of 1500. However, I find that the trigger fires only after the plane is above 2200 in radar altimeter. What have I done wrong? I Fly, Therefore I Am. One cannot go around not saying "Thank you" every time these days, can't you? YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc9BDi-STaqgWsjNiHbW0fA
Kang Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Quite possibly nothing. Off the top of my head I can think of two reasons for this. One is that the radar altimeter in many modules gets a bit inaccurate when in a bank (because it measures slant range, then). The other is - and I'm not perfectly sure about that - the possibility that the trigger doesn't read the ground level for its entire area but just for the point of its center, which would cause such inaccuracies easily in mountainous terrain.
Rokkett Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Also keep in mind that the ME measures altitude in metric, whilst most aircraft will measure altitude in imperial units.
