How to control the lights on the WinWing T/O Panel and the Combat control Panel

Hi guys just got my panels and I have them set up in DCS but I cannot control the lights, the Jettison lights, AA/AG lights the gear light or the Panel lights. All lights are off and the Panel light does not control anything (any lights). The buttons/ switches work within the DCS Open Beta game for the   F18 c/sim mode, and the lights come on when activated within the game, but remain off on the panels at all times. I have the SimAppPro software but how in the heck do you use it. (?) Searched google for info but no joy. Can anybody help me get these light to work properly, or provide info on a site that may give some instructions on how to use the  SimAppPro software?

In Simappro click on the pic associated with the panel you wish to control. On the diagram you'll see a LED Backlight setting, click on it and set the LED to Sync DCS. You'll then have to assign the panel control on the takeoff panel in DCS to the Console rotary. You will have to run Simappro in the background.

I've set all my LED sliders to half way

Hey Mustang, I open up SimAppPro and the first page under Device is blank, I step to the next page Virtual Device Mapping and there is two items and icons, Combat Ready Panel, and Takeoff Panel. I click on either icon and I get, sub heading on that page are "start mapping, and Run state: (in red) not running under that is a entry Activate Virtual Device mapping with a check box and under that and entry of Virtual Device Mapping. Below that are my icons one for T/O panel and one for Combat ready panel. The screen is split on the right side it states as a heading curve adjustment and upper far right top of box it states uninstall V.joy. the next file heading reads ADD-ON, open that and a split screen appears with a icon of a MFD. The last file is Key Bindings on that page lists all my devices under that 3 icons DCS, P3D, and Xplane11, under that 3 inquires.

Now go back where my icons are listed Virtual Device Mapping and click on one of them, it takes to a page that apparently list all available items for WinWing and I remove all checks of items except T/O panel and Combat Ready panel and press next step and you get a page that states up top of page "Add the mode switch button" from the following devices as needed. What does that mean? Below that are two icons and the word new under each icon. Click on either icon and in the center of the page you see "Please operate the button axis 9 and 5 way switch, from the two PDF manuals I was able to determine which switches they were referring too.

As you can see I have gone farther that your answer above, so where am I going wrong, I have not seen any Backlight setting anywhere, but my panels (both) work fine just no lights. Has SimAppPro changed or do I have the wrong software or what? Do I need to uninstall the V .Joy to see what I'm not seeing? If you can figure out what may be happing to my system or software that be great or and suggestion you might make has to help, it can't hurt (LOL).

Hey Mustang that is the point there are no icons or devices  listed on the Device page it is blank. there is nothing there except the word Device at the top of the page.

Unplug all USB devices except KB and Mouse, then plug just one panel into one of your USB sockets on the back of the PC mainboard. Run up Simappro and see if it is recorgnised. If not move the panel to another USB socket.

Hey Mustang thanks, got the lights working, What I did was remove the usb plugs from the usb hub and used my last two usb ports on the main computer. Both panels showed up at start up of computer on the Device page, so one of my problems have been solved. all lights working but the PNL light has no function. In DCS keybinds it is listed/shows up as Slider 2 but does not do anything. I used axis command and selected console light dimmer command but it does not seem to work, but I'm still happy that at least I got the lights to work.

Panel Lights control would be nice, but I can due without, just use the Device page in SimAppPro panel to control the lights. My next test will be to put the usb plugs back into my usb hub and see if they show up so I can recovery my last two usb ports on the motherboard. So thanks for the info Mate!!

Found the way the PNL light switch works, select the combat panel on the first page Device, after opening SamAppPro. You should get a pic of the combat panel, to the right select Backlighting, it will give you another box it will give you three dropdown boxes. In the first box select Takeoff control panel, in the second dropdown box select Rz as the axis rotate the PNL Light to the right and left. If you have chosen in DCS under axis Commands "consoles lights dimmer control" under the Winwing Takeoff panel  you should see "joy slider 2" and you will have control of both panel backlighting.

The part of the problem is that you need to have in your export.lua (●$HOME\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua) file  this code :

Quote

local wwtlfs=require('lfs')
dofile(wwtlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/wwt/wwtExport.lua')
