  1. Hey jonsky7 my god that was fantastic, loved it great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Hey rkk01 I had forgotten about the Dam Busters, great music too for it time. I think the 633 Squadron, Dam Busters, and 12 O'clock High, and Combat (TV show) rate as great tunes to me, with a touch of Top Gun to round it all off. LOL
  3. Hi guys, hoping to address this to the developers, just wanted to know if any other pilots that fly with a 2 year old or older Warthogs have notice a constant turn to the right in flight for the T45, at any altitude or airspeed. Trying to correct the turn to level flight with trim starts the see-saw effect on a pin head. To get the T45 off the ground and after a calibration my control inputs look like this. Joystick Pitch Roll Rudder Dead zone 6 3 3 Sat X 100 100 +50 Sat Y +70 +45 +50 Curve +30 +30 -40 Constant correction is required to stay on course, is this a known problem? or can anyone suggest a solution to my problem. The original calibration tool calibrated the throttle and joystick. The new tool only calibrates the joystick (unless I did not download the full program) but in any case any suggestion are welcome. Tried the rudder trim and the same see-saw effect happens except it is side to side. WeakLink
  4. Hey, Rudel_chw thanks for the response I guess I'll just keep working the problem, adjusting the curves the Hog must be more sensitive to input. The keybind "S" should help my taxiingl WeakLink
  5. Hey Rudel_chw I was just about to write you about another subject, but first this one, what setting are you using in your joystick and throttle set up. Are you using curves or not if so what amount of curve. Are you using a thrustmaster warthog. I find it hard to control the T-45 while taxiing, I find it hard to get the T-45 level inflight using the trim. it seems a bit to sensitive. It's been a while since I flew a real airplane maybe a quick review on how to use the trim wheels is required. But barring that I was just interested in your rudder setting and pitch/roll setting. Your three videos seemed stable in flight. My next question was where did you download the training mission(s) MO 3, does that come with the download or is it online somewhere? I hope that is a bit clearer. WeakLink
  6. Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Members 72 posts Posted 7 hours ago Hi guys just downloaded the T-45 yesterday and had a flight. My TM warthog is approx 3 years old but performs well. But it seems that the T-45 is a little crazy to taxi, and the pitch and roll both require large axis adjustments just wondering what everybody else is doing to control the pitch and roll and taxi problem (saitek rudders). I like to know what kind of axis adjustments you are making to acquire controlled flight. The trim seems a little touchy also in flight anyway to correct that?

Next question I downloaded the T-45 1.01 version, and when you go into the weapon load screen there is no load out available, I thought you would be able to load practice bombs and rockets? or is there another file I need to download. Install was straight forward I did not see a second file, but the question still remains can you load up the jet or not. And to the developers, great job really nice and smooth release I love it. The weapons show if you left click on one of the indicated three loadout positions

  9. Thanks Bob but at start up on the boat should the flaps be full up or full down? My startup indicates full down for flaps seems strange on the boat since the wind might cause movement problems of the aircraft. Just asking. WeakLink
  10. That's nice to know info on the gear handle, any comment on the wing flap position at start up on the boat?
  11. ey all, anyone figure out how to keep the gear handle lite on after shutdown and restart without calling up the SimAPP Pro software? After I shutdown for the night and come back the next day and start the computer all works but the gear handle light is off and I have to enter SimAppPro to recheck the box for gear handle, all panel lights work for both boxes T/O panel and Combat Panel, the panel lite knob works and functions perfectly but the gear handle light requires attention every time I restart my computer. Any body figure out how to work SimAppPro yet? I sure like to fix this gear handle light. WeakLink Also I can't seem to sync the flaps to up, (AUTO) at start up, are the flaps suppose to be in full down position at start up of aircraft or what? I wwould think full up if starting on deck to prevent aircraft movement due to wind hitting the flaps, anyone know. My T/O panel is set to full up (auto) at start up but once the engines start the flap panel indicates full down, cycling the flap switch puts the flaps back in sync. So the question is where are the flaps suppose to be on deck at startup, full up or full down.
  12. Hey Mustang thanks, got the lights working, What I did was remove the usb plugs from the usb hub and used my last two usb ports on the main computer. Both panels showed up at start up of computer on the Device page, so one of my problems have been solved. all lights working but the PNL light has no function. In DCS keybinds it is listed/shows up as Slider 2 but does not do anything. I used axis command and selected console light dimmer command but it does not seem to work, but I'm still happy that at least I got the lights to work. Panel Lights control would be nice, but I can due without, just use the Device page in SimAppPro panel to control the lights. My next test will be to put the usb plugs back into my usb hub and see if they show up so I can recovery my last two usb ports on the motherboard. So thanks for the info Mate!! WeakLink Found the way the PNL light switch works, select the combat panel on the first page Device, after opening SamAppPro. You should get a pic of the combat panel, to the right select Backlighting, it will give you another box it will give you three dropdown boxes. In the first box select Takeoff control panel, in the second dropdown box select Rz as the axis rotate the PNL Light to the right and left. If you have chosen in DCS under axis Commands "consoles lights dimmer control" under the Winwing Takeoff panel you should see "joy slider 2" and you will have control of both panel backlighting.
  13. Hey Mustang that is the point there are no icons or devices listed on the Device page it is blank. there is nothing there except the word Device at the top of the page. Weaklink
  14. Hey Mustang these pic's are from the Microsoft Snapping Tool, first screen I see when SimAppPro is opened. I hope you see it if not what imsge progam are you using?
  15. Hey Mustang, I open up SimAppPro and the first page under Device is blank, I step to the next page Virtual Device Mapping and there is two items and icons, Combat Ready Panel, and Takeoff Panel. I click on either icon and I get, sub heading on that page are "start mapping, and Run state: (in red) not running under that is a entry Activate Virtual Device mapping with a check box and under that and entry of Virtual Device Mapping. Below that are my icons one for T/O panel and one for Combat ready panel. The screen is split on the right side it states as a heading curve adjustment and upper far right top of box it states uninstall V.joy. the next file heading reads ADD-ON, open that and a split screen appears with a icon of a MFD. The last file is Key Bindings on that page lists all my devices under that 3 icons DCS, P3D, and Xplane11, under that 3 inquires. Now go back where my icons are listed Virtual Device Mapping and click on one of them, it takes to a page that apparently list all available items for WinWing and I remove all checks of items except T/O panel and Combat Ready panel and press next step and you get a page that states up top of page "Add the mode switch button" from the following devices as needed. What does that mean? Below that are two icons and the word new under each icon. Click on either icon and in the center of the page you see "Please operate the button axis 9 and 5 way switch, from the two PDF manuals I was able to determine which switches they were referring too. As you can see I have gone farther that your answer above, so where am I going wrong, I have not seen any Backlight setting anywhere, but my panels (both) work fine just no lights. Has SimAppPro changed or do I have the wrong software or what? Do I need to uninstall the V .Joy to see what I'm not seeing? If you can figure out what may be happing to my system or software that be great or and suggestion you might make has to help, it can't hurt (LOL). WeakLink
  16. Hi guys just got my panels and I have them set up in DCS but I cannot control the lights, the Jettison lights, AA/AG lights the gear light or the Panel lights. All lights are off and the Panel light does not control anything (any lights). The buttons/ switches work within the DCS Open Beta game for the F18 c/sim mode, and the lights come on when activated within the game, but remain off on the panels at all times. I have the SimAppPro software but how in the heck do you use it. (?) Searched google for info but no joy. Can anybody help me get these light to work properly, or provide info on a site that may give some instructions on how to use the SimAppPro software? WeakLink
  17. Having same problem F1 key will not return to cockpit view
  18. Hey guys has anyone seen a problem with the internal clock in the F 18 on the Nevada map? With a T/O time set to 1243L the game opens up and you start the jet and look down after checks and the Zulu clock is reading 2035 which is strange. there also seems to be a 12 minute difference in the time I set in the weather program (for start mission) to the time I set for T/O. Sounds crazy but if I alter the start mission time it pushes the T/O time by 12 minutes without any input at all, it just changes has anyone seen this happening? I tried uninstall and reinstall but that 12 minutes is sill there, strange. And since your clock does not appear until engine start you would have to guess at re-setting the time for the mission is it 4 minutes past start time or is it 6 minutes pass start time? to set the clock to the correct time. Also makes setting up a RZ with a tanker hard if you want the Tanker to start on the ground and head to the RZ point. I haven't flown the NV map in a few months maybe there has been a few changes so... I set up a round robin from Nellis to RZ with a tanker short story the tanker flew to point four and turn around and head back to base, strange it T/O on time but did not fly the mission real strange.
  19. DimSim good luck, and just remember the AV 8 is a beast, Never let it fly you, just "Fly the Dam Airplane" and you will be ok. Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!! WeakLink
  20. Hi DimSim, As to question 1 the answer is no, either you reset the trim i.e. AFC switch to far back position and recover the A/C or you turn AFC off, regain control of A/C and when in parameter set AFC back to on. There is no automatic re control of the A/C, the Harrier is a stick and rudder A/C YOU are in control at all times, AFC is just a pilot relief item. It too requires care and feeding. As for question 2 there is the reset function, if you find yourself in a position that is radically different from what you desire and if you think its the trim either reset the trim by pushing the AFC switch to the reset position, return it to AFC OFF, regain control of the A/C and and use your trim hat to reset your trim parameters, re-engage the AFC switch and you should be OK. The reset button only zeros out trim and does not apply the correct amount of trim needed to fly straight and level. Say U are at 20,000, starting a dive to TGT and you want to hold 420 TAS or 20 degrees in the dive, first you nose over set the dive angle, control airspeed with slight idle throttle , or airbrake line up on TGT trim off control pressures continue dive and bomb-a-way start your pull out and re-trim the A/C. Your trim can make life easy or hard, when I was in flight training my instructor use to hammer and that was Cesena, and to this day it has not changed!!!!!. ( FLY the DAM Airplane ). WeakLink
  21. Hey DimSim, my AFC switch is keybound to ONE button. I do not use the mouse to engage the AFC switch. It sounds as if you use the mouse to engage the AFC switch, I assume it should engage in the same way my Keybound ONE Button does if not then one of two things are happening, your AFC switch is double bound somewhere in your controller program, So I recommend you go through each sub heading of your key binds and check for a second binding. The other problem might be the A/C if not level when you try to engage the AFC, I believe it is less than 5 degrees off level but you should check the manual on that one and the Altitude Hold also has a restriction on the degrees level you must be, to engage/activate the switch. So the process for me, A/C starts to pitch up( usually after a turn where I failed to disengage the AFC switch ((button push) for disconnect, or I disconnected the AFC switch seconds after I started turn and the AFC absorbed the trim I was applying prior to turn)) In the first case at roll out I have to disengage AFC, leave it off longer to get control of the A/C. Because of the way I have it setup, Paddle switch (as modifier and the AFC BTN when modifier is engaged becomes the AFC disengagement switch) I can maintain a view of the HUD and level the A/C as required, reset my trim within the required level parameter for the AFC and ALT Hold to engage. For me the length of time it takes to regain control seems to depend a lot on the speed (IAS) you are flying. Below 300IAS it seem it takes a bit loner to react to my inputs and above 300 IAS it appears quicker to react to joystick inputs. If you are using the mouse to engage these switches then you are not looking at the HUD, So I suggest you bind them to single keys on the key board or your joystick or throttle. I use the Keybind "Automatic Flight control ON/OFF (A)". so in reality I only turn the AFC on or off. The Reset function is never activated, on that switch. The reset on that switch is not a toggle and stays engaged until U turn it off so the ZERO function it provides is never obtained with my action (AFC switch aft to OFF and re-trimming the A/C is part of my visual observation of the A/C performance and the HUD visual cues. As far as I can see if you use the reset function it is suppose to ZERO out the trim inputs and U are still in a lurk, and will have to retrim the A/C. So why not cut out the middle man, turn the AFC off, retrim and then turn the AFC back on and the Attitude Hold back on. Disconnecting the AFC switch (off) will also disengage the altitude hold switch so you basically have a new slate just correct the trim and reset/engage the autopilot. If you use the AFC reset remember it locks in the reset position and must be deactivated to retrim the A/C. Engage the Reset, gain control of the A/C and then deactivate the the Reset, trim the A/C and engage the AFC and Hold again. And all should be well.
  22. Hey DimSim as I said I have a TM warthog stick. On the throttle unit I have a autopilot button, as you might know the warthog is capable of layered programs levels, so for the most used actions are on the main level, and the secondary level are items that are niceties. When I want to engage the autopilot the (AFC control) I level the aircraft and engage the button. After I have levelled the nose, the Altitude Hold function is on the landing gear horn button. The reason I do not put Altitude hold on the secondary function of the autopilot is 1. I do not use it unless I'm level flight for any length of time high or low. 2 I find it temperamental and finicky. 3. the button maybe out of sync. (occasionally I fail to use enough pressure to activate the autopilot button) This also forces me to look at the SAAHS panel and ensure that the autopilot and altitude hold is engaged. I find that I use the disconnect 95% of the time when I start a turn and fail to disengage the autopilot before the turn, upon roll out the autopilot has almost doubled the pitch input and lost the ability to maintain level flight. As suggested by RAZBAM_ELMO the autopilot will attempt to recover to level but may absorb the input that U the operator applied. For turns up to 30 degrees I use the autopilot, anything greater I disconnect and fly the turn myself rollout and engage the autopilot. By using the paddle leveler at the bottom of the joystick I activate the second level of the program, by using the paddle switch as a modifier, it is much easier to access the secondary level of programming. Now to activate the reset button U engage the paddle switch first then push and hold the autopilot button until U feel you can regain control of the A/C. I find a short press on the dual function and the control is regained, sometime a longer press of the function is need to gain control. I find it personally that a lower airspeed will cause a longer press i.e. less than 300 IAS will cause me a longer engagement of the function to regain control of the plane. I do not use the Automatic Flight control Toggle in my setup, (toggle implies ON/OFF or OFF/ON and it very easy to confuse where you are with that switch). For instance if you use the "Synchronize control of HOTAS at startup" under the tab MISC then where is your switch or button at when you start?? I don't check it and I don't use that function. I just the Emergency SAAHS Disconnect. The Automatic Flight Control maybe causing some conflict in your autopilot controls. Just use the Emergency SAAHS Disconnect and take control of the A/C and then engage the AFC (autopilot) again.
  23. I'm not sure how you want to use SAASH reset, it I believe it is there to help U control a (runaway trim) that is when I apply it. And yes it turns off your autopilot and puts you back in control of the A/C. I find that it resets the trim to neutral position and allows you to gain control of the aircraft. I have a TM warthog and I have the reset on the autopilot and combined with the paddle lever as a second level command so; for me when the AP is on/engaged and the A/C pitch's up (the usual A/C performance) and I don't wish to wrestle with it I engage the SAAHS reset, a quick engagement and if needed a longer engagement to control the A/C very rarely used in a nose down position (if ever). When it come to turns in the flight plan I convert ground speed to miles per minute, determine how many miles I need to make that turn (considering your ETA to point) so now I have a turn short point, and at that point (the est. turn short point) I 1. turn Autopilot off. 2. Start turn and use the rudder if the turn exceeds 30 degrees(hold altitude much better) 3. level out on course, engage autopilot. I have found that if the autopilot is engaged during the turn it tends to double the set trim attitude you have set causing pitch up and Attitude Hold disengaging and fighting with the A/C again to control it. I hope I answered your question, and yes the Autopilot needs attention, with a few flaws. Should have been flying it the day it came out boy that was a ride! What we have now is heaven.
  24. Thanks, ChickenSim I just could not find it anywhere, I knew there was limit to it but could not find it.
