Wolfpack Campaign - My combat videos and review.

Hi guys,

I just started the P-47D Wolfpack campaign it was a delight!

On the very first mission (intro), the video hung in the middle and froze DCS so I had to terminate it via task manager. On 4k, the initial fps was just 17 and I thought "OMG, gonna have to lower stuff here", but surprisingly on the second attempt the fps went up to ~50 and kept there. This was the only bug so far.

I loved the environment and I knew @Reflected would do a great job. I was right.

So, the mission was to Escort Big Friends and, after being released, free hunting. If you want to jump in to action, here goes an index:

00:30-03:00 - Start up

05:30-06:30 - Takeoff

      09:15       - Rendez-vous

14:30-18:45  - Dogfight (3 kills)

22:20-23:00 - Channel B Audio

25:00      - Disappointing Landing (LOL - it was horrible)

Btw, I just uploaded it and YouTube takes time to process the high-res version of it. So, if it is just a 360 res vs, wait a bit and go back later to see it in 4k.

Here it goes:

If you want my Quick Reference Checklist, it is available on the DCS User Files Download page: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3310190/

Congratulations, Reflected! Awesome product.

I will keep posting the videos on this thread as I produce it.

All the best,

Sydy

Yeah, crashes suck. If you don't want to refly the whole thing, just start up, take off, then hit escape. You won't get any kills, but you'll progress to the next one.

Hi reflected, thanks for the campagin. I ran out olf fuel in the  first mission.  How can I progress to the second mission? Just taking-off and exiting the mission didn't do it for me.

It should....try taking off then calling air sea rescue to be sure and wait for a reply, then exit.

Hm, how long should  I wait for confirmation and does anybody know  how I can access the radio menue in the air? I can only access the communications menu when on the ground. I took off landed again and called air and sea rescue, but it didnt't work, maybe becuase I did land at the airbase or I didn't wait long enough.

You won’t miss any triggers, you’ll miss the action 🙂 triggers are not triggered by the player, events happen whether you are there or not. The further yoi are from your lead the more you need to pay attention to the radio to know when you need to do something. Depends on how far you mean though. AI is erratic by nature but it’s not that bad, you’ll get used to it, check my playthrough video.

I want to purchase the campaign but I also have to buy the map...and I don t think it s worth the money since it s almost like normandy.

But let s say I buy it...is it that hard to keep up wit the AI? And one more thing..with all those units in mission 1..is this playble in VR with a 2080 super gpu and i9900k ?

Hi @Gabi_tro

1) It's not like Normandy, it's WAAAY better 🙂 It's really beautiful.

2) It's not that hard if you fly right. Check here:

3) It should be playable as long as you have reasonable settings. Check my 2.7 settings guide on youtube. Also, you have the option to fly with 24 bombers instead of 72.

Hi guys,

Here goes the last mission video. I just loved the campaign and I'd like to recommend it to those who love the P-47. Just amazing!

In the end, I bagged 26 kills, no deaths and a lot of lessons learned.

Once again, congratulations Reflected!

All the best,

Sydy
