104th_Crunch Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 So the match on 04-Oct is shaping up to be a good one! There are currently 32 pilots for Red and 20 on Blue. Red side's fighter slots have all been taken and there are some Su-25 Slots left open. Blue has about a dozen F-15 Slots open as well as A-10 Slots. Dedicated planning rooms have been set up for both sides and it seems there will be lots of objectives for both sides to meet. We are looking for some F-15 Eagle Drivers! Uncle Sam, Aunt Samantha : ) wants you! 2 Weeks left, sign up today!
104th_Crunch Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 last bump before the event. thanks
104th_Crunch Posted October 4, 2008 Author Posted October 4, 2008 (edited) The 169th forum will be down for a few days due to an ISP problem. Sorry about the inconvenience. Please be in Hyper Lobby by 20:00 GMT and the event starts at 20:30 GMT Still F-15 slots left! Scores will be posted in this and other forums after the event http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=31956 http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2584364#Post2584364 http://lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=...b9bbda8d5#35310 http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/1621050686 Reminder that besides your starting plane you have been assigned, you can pick other empty plane positions to spawn in if they are empty. You cannot however spawn at a different plane or airbase unless you land first. There are a lot of good pilots flying on both sides. It should be a great match with lots of Teamwork Salute! 169th Crunch Edited October 4, 2008 by Crunch
104th_Crunch Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) Total Scores Blue -111 Red -220 Once again thanks to all 56 pilots that flew in the BSS. It was a great time and there was lots of action on the go. There were some connection issues where some pilots were kicked out of the game, but these are hard to avoid with so many players at one time. Blue came through on top by following the planning set out in our forums before the event. Red were absolutely aggressive in their relentless Air to Air attacks. Here are the multiplayer log and the final scores (thanks to 169th Moa) for each team and pilot. Scoring system details are available on our forums. Next BSS is currently scheduled for Dec 06 pending any change in plans. Salute! 169th Crunch Edited October 6, 2008 by Crunch

HitchHikingFlatlander Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Was a lot of fun but I think I have to rethink my role as a CAS provider, I think I only helped the other side by providing an easy kill. No matter how hard I tried to get to the target the closest I ever got was maybe 18nm out in the last 5 mins because everyone was rushing back to get on the ground. I think I got shot down 5 times and crashed 5 due to low flying lag. Next time I'll try a different approach like flying way out of my way in hiding! Thanks again for having me along! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad

Hitch, I was very glad you could make it. Please don't be discouraged. As I mentioned, as you were the only A-10 on Blue and were a late comer, our side simply did not have any planning for escort availability. I recall flying escort for you on one of flight, but Red had us out numbered. Our planning tried to compensate for our lower numbers and escorting slower bombers is hard when you are numbered by fighters. If you fly for the next event, you can join our planning in our forums and we'll make sure to keep you covered : ) Thanks for flying!
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Definitely will do! I'm not complaining I had a good time and I understand you all had your hands full, it would have been nice to get a shot off once though. Being my first online event for LOMAC and having played online no more than 15 times I dont think I did that bad! I just need some practice on how to not get spotted on radar if possible, I think I was avoiding radar contact a good deal of the time flying behind mountains. Just once they spotted me and had an idea of where I was there was nowhere to hide! The routes I chose didnt help either I think I would have been better served flying SE then into the mountains. But I'll be playing online a lot more honing my skills or just getting skills in general! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
Frostie Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Thanks 169th this was great fun on my first full outing in BSS, im totally impressed with the different contrast accomplished from BSS than the usual Hyperlobby fest. A professional approach to tactics and planning with each side trying to work together in TS. Its a fantastic addition to the community calender and a totally different experience to LOCERF which I regularly attend. So I encourage those that haven't tried yet to give it a shot and experience yet another great community event. My only complaint was in the final half hour I seemed to aquire an illness, headache and cold sweats and have only just recently recovered fully so thanks for that too.:D j/k 1 "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'.
