Regarding how much effort that alone might take , has anyone successfully ditched a Yak-52 in DCS ? 

Given how the Yak behaves when it lands on anything else in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if it worked. 😄

Hmmm...don't have the Yak , so i'm unaware . Thought it might be the best candidate to test the current hydrodynamics .

Its damage model has a history of… ehm… incompleteness, let's say. It is capable of landing safely on surfaces that trigger instant explosions in any and all other aircraft aside from maybe the helicopters. Water is more explody than everything else so I'm pretty sure not even the Yak is immune, but it has become a bit of a running joke to land it in the silliest places.
