leafer Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 The military must have names for different movements and such. Examples: When a team of Rangers go in to a room to clear it, is their a special name on the way they move in and how they carry their M4 and such? Sorry, Eng is my second language. Or is there a good site that explains all this stuff. Thanks ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
SwingKid Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 You should change the subject line to "OT: help with infantry question (urban warfare)". The OT means "off-topic". I don't know if you have seen it or if it would answer "all this stuff", but there was recently an interesting tutorial about urban warfare: http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/shared/spl/hi/middle_east/03/urban_warfare/html/default.stm -SK

Guest ruggbutt Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Thanks for taking the time to answer his questions Reap. Hooah!!
leafer Posted January 15, 2005 Author Posted January 15, 2005 Swingkid, Sorry I didn't put 'OT' in my original post. Having been with this community for what seems like forever, I tend to feel like I carry some kind of privilege card or somethin'. And can bypass the rules and whatnot. :D And thanks for the English lesson. Eng is not my first language and I actually sat here a while thinking how to ask so people would understand. :P Reaper-6, Thanks! I'll check them out now. ruggbutt, are you a ranger? Any would any of you like to read a script I wrote? I think you might find it interesting and maybe you could comment on the fighting scene and such. Cheers ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
SUBS17 Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 If you're approaching the room tactically then you would use hand signals. If there are bullets flying already then your team would use verbal commands and kick the door(grenade/flash bang) wait for it to go off then go in and clear it. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
SwingKid Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Having been with this community for what seems like forever... Ah, I was wondering if you were the same leafer from another forum. That woman you had as your avatar had me confused for a while, among other things. Quite the reunion here... Cheers mate. -SK
Guest ruggbutt Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Swingkid, ruggbutt, are you a ranger? No, but Reaper is. I asked him to post here to answer your questions. He's been in our clan for 4 years, but we've only seen him online for half of that, as he's been operational for the other half.
leafer Posted January 15, 2005 Author Posted January 15, 2005 SUBS17, Ahh, thanks for that flashbang bit! Didn't think about that. Swingkid, Yup, quite a reunion here. Cheers! ruggbutt, Thanks for helping out. Appreciate it. Cheers all! ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
