HSI waypoint

Does the HSI display the selected waypoint number anywhere ?
 

in other words, if the HUD is not functioning and you’re unsure of what waypoint you are heading to, is that displayed anywhere in the sim cockpit ?

No. You can only guess by changing WPTs and looking at the course, bearing and distance, then comparing it to a flight path on the kneeboard map. Contacting ATC will also give you an idea of where you are and where to go if you're lost.
