TLTeo Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 I just got back in the Hornet and I noticed that whenever I'm close to the ship, at around 150ish feet ASL or so, AoA tends to decrease with no inputs on my end (I would hope...), as if the aircraft had more lift all of a sudden...so my question is, is the ground effect bug fixed and do I get an easy excuse for why I keep messing up landings in close?
razo+r Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 It at least used to be fixed. You can also try it yourself to replicate, fly low to the ground and see what happens... 1
RaisedByWolves Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 That you mention this I was doing some low level just yesterday and was not pulled into the ground. I was much lower than 150 feet agl.

I was much lower than 150 feet agl. That was a different issue nicknamed 'reverse ground effect' which I think has been addressed, although I made no attempts to find out for quite a while. OP is talking about exaggerated 'normal' ground effect that makes you float a little, not at 150 feet though.
