Pikey Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 So there is a unique DCS thing with the variants added that I'm especially looking forward to, in that there is a two seat version of the same airframe coming. That's a big thing for multiplayer, often, trainers are lower powered, cheaper jets or a different type. Seen as unglamourous or "boring". Discounting the L-39 C and ZA which feel very similar, this will be the first time we see a front line interceptor have two seats and a single seat version in DCS. As someone that has more time to play than my peers, I often talk people through systems from another plane nearby. This is something people might not throw up their "oh its another trainer" complaint at, which, being honest, I get it, its a commercial sim but its also a game and many aren't that interested in 'stepping stone' aircraft. But, the people I know would sure as hell like to have someone they know in the same plane a little more cooperatively to get them up to speed with the same airframe, rather than the classic progress tree style that is more realistic. So, my ask is, that the E 2 seater will be coming close to the single seat so we dont miss the biggest time when the trainer E version is used by two players in DCS. 1 ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
Qiou87 Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 (edited) Might be my own misunderstanding of your post, but the one you seem to be eager to get is the F1BE (B is for "Biplace", or Two-Seater - the E in all versions done by Aerges is probably for "Espagne", or Spain in French). The F1EE is a more advanced CE, able to air refuel for example, and more advanced air-ground capabilities. I totally agree with what you are saying: I hope we can get the BE version soon after the CE, so that we can use the jet in a multiplayer training role (one teacher, one new pilot) and get people up to speed quicker. It is definitely more fun to learn with other people, and not everyone learns in the same way - for those that are "book-smart", reading manuals works probably, but what about those who learn by doing? The two-seater is perfect for that. And it is much easier when done from the same airframe. Trainer aircraft teach you how to fly, how to navigate... but how to fight with the aircraft cannot really be done from a different type with different radar, weapon suite etc. The addition of the BE to the F1 module is really, really great and one of its standout features. I also hope that it will come soon. Edited May 9, 2021 by Qiou87 1 AMD R7 5800X3D | 64GB DDR4 3200MHz | RTX 4080S 16GB | Varjo Aero | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk3 + STECS + pedals

The B is essentially a two-seater C, the E is a multi-role variant (which in practice means it has an INS and air to air refueling capabilities), and the E at the end of each simply stands for the country, which is why the Spanish strike jets were called "EE" , the Iraqi ones "EQ", and the Greek interceptors "CG". 2
Loudfox Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Yeah, I can't wait for the two-seater version too. In addition to the MP aspect I don't know there is something about it I found even more aesthetic. 1 Detailed Mirage 2000C liveries from EC 2/5 "Ile de France" available here : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3317018/
Get_Lo Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 I remember hearing from Aerges that the F1EE will follow a few months after the CE, and the BE will follow a few months after the EE. the F1M will be the last and take the longest 1
