Sr. Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 (edited) Is it just me or is performance lower flying the A-10CII, same map than the FA-18? I can fly around Caucuses, through hills, over towns banking and looking hard left/right and maintain 45fps, GPU frametimes from 10-16 with little to NO jitter. Hop in the A-10CII free flight Caucuses and drop to 32-38 fps and GPU frametimes 17-20 with lots of jitter banking and looking around. speed-of-heat Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Performance does vary from aircraft to aircraft, I haven’t tried the A10CII in any kind of serious performance test, but a number of factors can come into play, cockpit textures, displays, etc, can all impact memory and performance of both cpu and gpu. what about gpu vs cpu and ram vs vram usage etc? also the first couple of flights are always a bit shaky, I’m not sure if that is because it’s rendering stuff for the first time, or if it’s just “perception filter”… so maybe give it a couple of run throughs and see? finally, are they really like for like scenarios, the f-18 instant action free flight is very different from the f-14 etc… SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

I added an A-10CII to the Hornet free flight map and get almost identical performance, swapping from one to the other. 2 Ryzen 7 5800X3D | 64GB DDR4 3600| MSI RTX 4080 16GB Ventus 3X OC | Samsung 970 Evo 2TB NVME | Quest 3 | Logitech X-56 throttle | VKB NXT Premium | Win 11 "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." --Arthur C Clark
