streaker Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Hello everyone, I am at a loss here, just can not figure out what is going on. No mods, only official planes and maps. 2.7 works but is very unstable, it crashes but generates a at least a crash report. I reverted back to 2.56 and now the sim crashes without a log, just simply a freeze and then I have to exit everything with task manager. The last 5 months I have had 0 crashes or glitches, just worked like a dream. I have done the repair (Steam) but it still happens. Some times the game crashes in the menus, this is all new to me. If the game freezes can I still use the log to see? I do not get the blue screen to generate one. Thanks.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 16, 2021 ED Team Posted May 16, 2021 Hi please try this advice make sure windows and drivers are up to date also. if you overclock consider lowering it Forum rules - DCS Crashing? cthulhu68 Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 (edited) The crash window only appears behind DCS screen so alt/tab allows you to see it. Log should still be created. If Bignewy's advice doesn't solve it try changing windows compatibility setting to windows 8. ( In DCS / Bin folder right click on DCS app / properties/ compatibility ) Only drawback is longer load times and long blackscreen when exiting. Edited May 16, 2021 by cthulhu68 1
