I had created a flight (SP) and set Master NORM, Anti colliders on, navs OFF, Wing Tail and Fuse OFF, yet the Form lights brightness dial will alter the brightness of the Nav lights - yet they are supposed to be off.

Picture shows lighting selected - the dial at lower left is the possible issue?

Seems a little counter intuitive? If wing/tail are set to off, they shouldn't be on. :dunno:

The FORM knob provides variable brightness, unlike the switches which are either BRT or DIM. Most of those lights also possess NVG lights for the COVERT modes, which variable brightness would be useful.

There is a logic to them but it's a bit of a learning curve.

Four of the seven (counting wingtip upper and lower separately) position lights aren't just position, they're dual function position/formation. Turning the position function switch for wing/tail to off you're freeing them up to be used by the formation light system. Otherwise when on their higher priority role as position lights overrides their formation duties. The tail and intake position lights don't participate in the formation system at all and so they do go off if the position wing/tail switch is set to off.

This dates back all the way to the F-16A model.
