TorwaK Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 Okay, i need a AAR on this sweetharts! Im thinking about getting two of them for a OS RAID. Are they very loud ? Groove, just read the link then you can find answer for your all questions. From first hand I can tell that VelociRaptor is really silent. VelociRaptor is even faster than SAS 15.000rpm (Serial Attached Storage) disks about seeking time also reading+writing. So if you're looking for high performance at your PC such as short loading time, low latency/fast response etc. That's what you need. Details at below, http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/HDD-SATA-VelociRaptor,1914.html [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core i7-6700K, @5GHz | Asus Maximus Hero VIII | 2 x eVGA GTX 970 SLI | Kingston Predator 16GB DDR4-3000Mhz | 2 x Samsung 850 PRO 240GB RAID-0 | AOC G2460PG G-SYNC LCD | OCULUS RIFT CV1 VR | THRUSTMASTER HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO PEDALS
stealthtemplates Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Yep great drives, trying to toss up between the Velociraptor 74gb or a 32gb SSD (early next year), still undecided both have advantages and disadvantages. Also need to take into account those server 15000rpm drives take a lot longer to load then a velociraptor
