II.JG1_Vonrd Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 In Wags' video on the Schturms he switches into the front cockpit to work the missiles using Petrovitch to fly. When I attempt it the heli goes out of control and crashes. What am I doing wrong? I have Petrovitch activated before I switch positions.
rogorogo Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 "Petrovich AI Auto Handover" checked in the "special" tab? 1
ARM505 Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Even with the box checked (by default it starts off checked, but I verified anyway) the AI can sometimes go absolutely beserk and just slam the helo into the deck - it's happened to me once so far. I engaged (switched cockpits) at a very reasonable height and speed, and it just nosed right over into the ground. Bit of a surprise...

I've tried it in hover as well as normal fwd flight... about 150 kph and constant altitude. As soon as I'm in the fwd cockpit it dives and rolls into the ground. Does Autopilot Hover or Route need to be engaged? If so, for route, that makes it useless for attack unless you have pre planned waypoints... and who has that in the shitstorm? I'm sure that there is something that I'm missing or there is an actual bug.
wowbagger Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Some missions were saved with Simplified AI enabled in the mission editor. You will know that is the case if you switch to the front cockpit and can still control the aircraft without Requesting Control or unparking the cyclic. Check if that might be what's happening. 1 no sig

You fly to perfect hover, jump to front and Petrovich starts waving nose around and turning sideways etc. It takes time to get it commanded to relax. Or it just flies on ground because pulled high AoA and went VRS. Sometimes it feels like Petrovich is flying first time. 1 i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

Or maybe they just put him in the cockpit like in WWII? Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk

How do you request control? And, how to unpark the cyclic? As with most modules there are so many strangely named controls that I'm not sure what they are specifically called in the controls menu.

Max is correct. The default Request Control bind is C, I believe . The cyclic will unpark automatically when you take control. If you have the Petrovich AI Auto Handover enabled in Special Options should give you control (and unpark the cyclic) as soon as you switch seats, without having to press C.
