What file was it that you had to change to get better quality Jpeg pictures in lockon?

Was it the graphics.cfg`?

Yes it is graphics.cfg then at the bottom of file:

ScreenshotQuality = 90;

ScreenshotName = "ScreenShots/ScreenShot_%03d.jpg";

ScreenshotExt = "jpg";

Change extension from jpg to bmp and set quality to 100% for secure I think:

ScreenshotQuality = 90;

ScreenshotName = "ScreenShots/ScreenShot_%03d.bmp"; <-- I think here you must change extension too from jpg to bmp

ScreenshotExt = "bmp";

LoCFG has a gui for these settings.

In the real world you can't set a percentage of quality to a bitmap, only colour depth etc. However I am not sure what a percentage change does in LOMAC/FC.

You can't change the quality higher than 100% in jpeg. If it still looks poor on 100% it's down to the algorithem ED put in. If you export as BMP it should be as you see it on the screen and then you can tweak the compression yourself.
