Amphibious warfare imrpovements

Here are some suggestions to improve amphibious warfare.

• Preload vehicles and troops on landing craft and transports
• have amphibious vehicles spawn at amphibious warfare ships. Ideally I'd like to see them roll off the dock but if all they do is appear I'll be happy.
• Hovercraft and other modern landing craft. If a vehicle can't swim then it needs to be put on one that can.
• more ships for all eras, especially a 1980s Iowa class battleship.  We have Beirut so why not the US New Jersey?
• the ability to limit which weapons ships can use

Absolutely agreed on all counts.

 

With regards to your second point - there are amphibious ships in DCS that have doors that open for landing craft (the bow door and ramp, as well as the cargo elevator for the LST Mk. II is animated, and the bow and stern doors and ramp is animated on the BDK Pr. 775 ["Ropucha I"] in the modelviewer).

 

When the Tarawa first came to DCS it's stern ramp and well deck was present and animated, but it was later removed. I'm not sure about the Type 071 ["Yuzhao"] LPD, but IMO, it's graphics aren't up to standard.

The Type 071's doors do open and close, but improving the models will always be appreciated. Other than my one request about the 1980s Iowas I am not too picky about which ships should get added. I guess with the info tab we could have ground units listed on amphibious assault ships
