MEDIC - v312 Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Hi all, I was just wondering why the download times/speeds on updates for the live version are so slow? I have a 250 mbit connection and usually download around 25 mb/s, however for some reason I don't get over 4 mb/s download speed whilst trying to download DCS updates. With updates usually being in the 10s of gigbytes, it takes ages for it to download. Especially if you had planned to fly or do something in DCS and it takes hours to download an update, you're chance of doing anything in DCS that day is gone. Could the servers please be update4d to ensure decent download times? 1

Could the servers please be update4d to ensure decent download times? It is normal for all games to restrict DL speed when potentially 1000's of people are downloading at the same time. If i remember updater show speed on MB/s and 25MB/s it´s a ok speed for 250mbit connection. Cathnan Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I usually can max out my 80Mbit connection no problem with DCS updates. However Steam is a different story. More often than not when I download something on steam it won't even use 10% of my connection. Unless I switch on a VPN. If I fire up my NordVPN tunnel (same country) it also maxes out my connection. Maybe worth a try.
