Mission 3 - need help!

It´s me again, sorry...

 

Tried mission 3 couple of times. I´m leaving the boat, navigate to the tanker (I can´t refuel this jet - yet), spot the Valley Forge and two helicopters. Then what? I didn´t know what to do, so I shot them both down. Got back to mother, and landed. The radio chatter volume is so low, so I can´t really tell what they´re saying really. Well I´ll try one more time. Then I get back to zone 5 campaign. It´s much easyer for me.

Hey, thanks for reaching out. Here are a few tips:

 

- Use the radio volume knob (both). If it's still not loud enough, check 'hear like in helmet' in your audio settings

- You don't need to refuel, you have enough fuel, but you MUST follow the on-screen messages, and 'do as if' you were refueling.

- The AWACS told you to make a high speed pass close to the helos, so that's what you need to do. Then you'll get a message to return on station over the Valley Forge. Of course, you must be on channel 2 to hear the messages from the awacs.

I forgot to ask; what is the ils freq to the carrier in this mission? Kneeboard says 5, but it did not work for me. I tried also 11, but that was also no go.

the ils on the kneeboard card is correct. The knob is hard to read, double check. Also make sure your switchology is correct.

I did the refuel and flew to Valley Forge. I was told to find two MI-8 but there's nothing out there. Would they show up on RWR because there's nothing on there either and AWACS says the area is clean.

The DCS Awacs can't see them because they're low and slow. Use the directions from the AWACS voice overs, and scan the area using PAL and your TCS. They are there

 

Ultimately you can turn on the labels just for this one.
