Nealius Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 (edited) I have a sandbox mission for Marianas with two MiG-29s orbiting north of the FDM naval range. Advanced waypoint actions are set as following: -CAP -Search then engage in zone -engage fighters and fighter bomber, ignore everything else -ROE = return fire They respect none of these when the mission is flown online. When I tested offline there didn't seem to be a problem, but I also only ran it offline for a couple minutes versus the 60 minutes I flew online. They engage three KC-135s orbiting well outside their "search then engage" zone. KC-135s are neither fighters nor fighter bombers. Nor do they have any armament with which to trigger a "return fire" ROE. Miz file attached. Marianas Sandbox Afternoon.miz Edited July 2, 2021 by Nealius
Grimes Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Delete the CAP task and move the orbit task to the bottom of the list. The order of tasks matters for anything from the "perform task" type, which is what orbit is. Basically CAP tells the AI they are allowed to attack any aircraft and orbit that they have to complete that task before moving on to others. As a result the 3 options and search and engage task never get executed. Also applies to your tanker aircraft, their TACAN task is after orbit, thus TACAN is never activated. 1 1 The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Nealius Posted July 3, 2021 Author Posted July 3, 2021 That's interesting. I've always had TACAN after orbit for the tankers and never had issues with their TACAN not turning on.
