Steel Jaw Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Following the in-sim training for engine start to the exact steps, but when I hit the starter, the props spin but the engine doesnt catch? Thoughts please. Blackhaze440 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 (edited) Make sure you are on idle cut off and give it a tiny bit of throttle and have prop rpm 3/4 all the way up when you first start turning it over and once you hear it starting to fire swich from idle-cut to run also hold the fuel switch for about 5 seconds before you start to crank and make sure you got the fuel turned on the its down on the bottom behind the stick. _Spad_ Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Without seeing a video - If there's no cough, has to be either fuel or magnetos. Make sure the fuel booster switch is on as well as the fuel.

Exactly, cranking the blades but never catches/coughs. razo+r Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Its obvious you're missing something so just add a video or a track so we can figure out what you are missing.
Steel Jaw Posted July 3, 2021 Author Posted July 3, 2021 Sigh OK So what happened is that the mixture was initially set to emergency rather than idle cut off prior top engine start. Attention to detail was never my strong suit. Good thing Im not a real pilot.
