AI Air Refueling

Please make it possible to assign specific flights to tank with specific tankers. Right now huge gaggles of jets chase one tanker even when there are several nearby... It might also be good to assign specific amounts of fuel to give, and not to just filler up full on each jet.

Well.... that might be one of the few cases where art imitates life.....

 

Not trying to disparage ya btw, It's just that when you have a lot of planes needing gas, the pilots are going to go to any available tanker that can deliver.

Well, that's when the plan has gone so f****ed up that it's your last option. 

Otherwise it's carefully planned and no one will tank out if the plan without at least a commanding authority's approval.

When I have six tankers in the area, and all the aircraft needing fuel gang up on one tanker, and all the other tankers are ignored till the first one runs out of gas to give, I'd say that is not realistic at all. The fighters will run out of gas in DCS and crash rather than go to the next available tanker. That's ridiculous... As for this picture, I can't tell if this is a Ferrying mission to get fighters to distant locations as in a deployment, or are they in the AOR supporting actual combat operations? Those are very different missions, and I can't tell with this picture. In any case, they track fuel very carefully on both ends. Usually, missions are very specific with specific routes and tanker support for those missions. They aren't random encounters...
