Another chance for TARJET, but ...

Hi,

 

I'm giving TARJET another chance, but I'm having problems, I'll explain them ...

 

A warning before, YOU DID NOT CONNECT THE HOTAS through HUB, I did it and had many problems, I have tried to connect it directly, and I only have few problems.

 

And ... What problems do I have?

 

Basically it is that when I use TARJET, windows DOES NOT detect a large part of the buttons, which then I cannot map in DCS, I attach the list and some images.

 

When i NO use TARJET

 

A - Windows detecta "Configure Game Controller", 2 devices (image 01)
    A.1.- Throttle - Hotas  Warthog
    A.2.- Joystick - Hotas Warthog

 

 

 

 

B - If you examine (Throttle - Hotas  Warthog) in Windows/Configure Game Controller, can see that have:
    B.1.- 5 Axis
    B.2.- 40 Buttons
    B.3.- 1 P.O.V

 

 

C - If you examine (Joystick - Hotas Warthog) in Windows/Configure Game Controller, can see that have:
    C.1.- 2 Axis
    C.2.- 19 Buttons
    C.3.- 1 P.O.V.

D - Theory, when you use TARJET and create the "virtual" device. The axes, buttons and POVs, should be the sum of the two (Throttle and Joystick) separately, it would have to be:

    D.1.- 7 Axis
    D.2.- 59 Buttons
    D.3.- 1 P.O.V.
    -No?

When i USE TARJET

 

E - Reality. When you use TARJET, and create the virtual device, create it with less buttons

    E.1.- 8 Axis (1 More)
    E.2.- 40 Buttons (19 less)
    E.3.- 1 P.O.V (1 less)

Note: As you can see in screenshots, virtual device appers as (root)

That’s nice… stop using Dropbox for your images… all I see are the links… just drag and drop them from your desktop.

If I had to guess, you haven’t correctly installed the drivers for your throttle/stick

A very common mistake is not installing the drivers, or god forbid trying to configure it via the windows joystick panel

Windows control panel only shows up to 32 buttons.., you are seeing a limit in windows control panel not TARGET,  don’t use windows control panel

Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but I had similar problems like you and couldn’t get target to work reliably. I really suggest you give Gremlin a good look, I’ve never had any problems since I made the switch. It can do everything that target can and it’s absolutely reliable.

I read horror story after horror story about TARGET, bricked devices, etc. I made sure my gear had the latest BIOS and tried a pre-written (I modified two lines for my use) script and it has worked flawlessly. I run it (DX1-128) for DCS and IL2, turn it off and all is well for BMS (only sees up to DX32).. 0 issues. Listen to Speed-of-heat, he knows what he is talking about!

But... A doubt, I have see this profile, but one time do you program.... Its not necessary the use of Target.? Suppose

your English is better than my Spanish, but, I cant actually work out what you are saying or asking ... I think you are asking;  if you use the DX128 profile, can you just use it once, and then not use TARGET again? 

 

No, TARGET must always be run in the background for the TARGET script to be effective, there is no persistent programming to a the WARTHOG HOTAS.
