Hello, ive been trying to install the T-45 mod for dcs with no luck on steam version. Every guide i find to install the mod says go to "C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft" and paste, but when i go to aviation sub section of mods on my machine it shows as seen below "This PC\Windows\Program files (x86)\Steam\steam apps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\ Aircraft" If i put the file (the full download) and open dcs it says "T-45" is not authorized. I see that the fine details of the file are different on mine vs everyone else, but the same basic concepts are identical minus the steam, saved games, and username (im on laptop so i only have a single hard drive and single profile). All of the forums say that if you manually install you have to add a mods file, i already installed the offiocal f-18 module and that with the tf-51 and su-25 are already in the mods file. What am i doing wrong ? Any help would be appreacieated as i really want to get this mod, if there is a mod sub forum feel free to re direct this post.Capture.PNG

There are two types of mods. Most flyable/driveable mods and AI assets goes into Saved Games, and won't break Integrity Check for Multiplayer. Other mods that change the core behaviour of the game. Like swapping out textures and other stuff to make it look better, goes into the core installation folders and break IC. These mods are bedt applied using a mod manager, though I use it for Saved Games mods too, to easily troubleshoot if necessary.

Tell me about what mod you have issues with and I'll help you. If you read the first two paragraphs of the OP, you can clearly see he mixed up Saved Games and installation folders. And to make it absolutely clear. There are no different ways to install mods between Steam and Standalone. Saved Games path is the same for both. For core mods, the only difference is the path where DCS is installed. And with Standalone, we can even choose the path. And with Steam you can have different Steam Libraries too.

Cheers!

Exactly! You need to put them in, (seperate folders of course), Saved Games\DCS\Mods\Aircraft

Now you might need to create the Aircraft folder, and I believe the confusion comes from this. Because the folder might not exist, users go looking for it in the core installation folders, even if all those mods clearly states in the description they go in Saved Games. 😉

The weapons mod, I have never tried any weapons mod. If you tell me which, I'll have a look.

Cheers!

As I was passing by I'll chip in on @MAXsenna reply,

The superb OH-6A mod I have is installed in   C:\<username>\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\Aircraft\OH-6A

The weapons are in  the Tech folder, if you don't have one then just create one, as in, C:\<username>\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\Tech\OH-6A_Weaponpack

If you look at the mods that you want to install they should already have a similar folder structure.

True, while some weapons mod needs to go into core. And I do the ones for official models have to. And those he mentions are for the Flanker and the Fulcrum.

Again it depends on the type of mod. If we had an official mod manager with an official mod repository, it would be so much easier for everyone.

Of course you can't. It literally explains it in the description.

"You can only access them by using the Mission Editor. Files are included for
Mig-29 A, G and S"

"You can only access them by using the Mission Editor. Files are included for
Su-33, Su-27 and J-11A"
