redboot Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 I'm new to the mission editor. I'm trying to create a simple mission with lots of enemy aircraft in a specific area to practice using the radar. I set their mission type to "nothing" and create two waypoints for each unit expecting them to simply fly back and forth between the two waypoints...at least that's what I want. But when I start the mission, all enemy aircraft immediately RTB. Is there any way to just get them to hang around up in the sky?
HedgeSlammer Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Hi Redboot, welcome to the wonderful world of the editor! What you need to do is give them a task to orbit. A single waypoint is all you need for a circular orbit, and if you'd like a racetrack type, you need 2, with the orbit task set on the first, then the flight will fly to the next WP & back again in an orbit until told otherwise. Cor, I think I answered my first question! 2

To add to @HedgeSlammer 's solution, you can set a "perform command" -> "switch to waypoint" action at waypoint 2, pointing to waypoint 1. They will fly back and forth between these two waypoints 'till out of fuel (if you set RTB on bingo). 1
