Bell AH-1G Cobra

Since we have the UH-1H, one has to wonder why we don't yet have the AH-1G Cobra in DCS. Sure, it isn't the most capable of the Cobras, but it is an attack helo designed to escort the UH-1H in Vietnam. Given that it uses the many UH-1 Components, the only real challenge for ED would be creating a proper flight model for it.

Cobra, depending on variant, would be a Mi-24 counterpart in Cold War scenarios and MP servers.

Both Vietnam AH-1G with miniguns, grenade launchers and rockets to escort UH-1 and Europe 1980s AH-1S/P/E/F with anti-armor missiles to hunt for Soviet tanks breaching Fulda Gap, together with Gazelle M and Bolkov-105.

I would guess it can be developed after the Apache.

and in a comparatively short development time given that if they start with the G, it can 'borrow' many of the Hueys bits since the real thing did (hence one of the reasons the Army adopted it), and most of the available weapons are already in game, so the longest part of the development would be the 3D assets and flight model changes from the UH-1H. Oh, and it can even use the simplified gunner of the UH-1H since in the AH-1G, that's all the gunner really controlled was the chin mounted gun.

Definitely. Simple Cold War helicopter would take a fraction of i.e. Apache development time, money and man-hours.

I would love to see an Iran livery for the AH-1G! I've been looking everywhere for Iran liveries. If anyone is willing to share Iran liveries, I will share all my Iran liveries. I currently have a few custom liveries for the Mi-24P, E-3A, Mig-31, Mig-34 and I have an Iran livery for the Aircraft Carrier. Like I said I'm willing to share if someone can help me out with Custom Iran liveries.
