DSplayer Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 (edited) A F-14 RIO plays a Star Wars N64 game on his PTID with a N64 controller. Spoiler Heatblur when? /s Also, I assume the PTID has a video input which I find pretty weird. bonesvf103 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 They also were watching Top Gun and some NSFW videos too. v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. I would have 80 pounds of flesh to eat and a pair of glasses to start a fire." --F/A-18 Hornet pilot
G.J.S Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I find that extremely hard to believe . . . . You only see the ‘cockpit’ when playing his game, you don’t see anything else. Could be a facsimile in a well lit garage . . . . - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -
AH_Solid_Snake Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 It doesn't seem that outlandish that the PTID would have a video input? How else would it get a feed from the TCS or the LANTIRN? Or for that matter just rendering the regular TID displays.

They would be on the rear of the unit however. Only beeps’n’tweeks should have access to that. AH_Solid_Snake Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 The magic of editing, they dont show us the avionics tech hanging on the RIO ladder holding the N64 with a very long cable going into the nose....

F4 drivers replacing every “F” with “Ph” is a different matter… 1 Fly Pretty, anyone can Fly Safe.

Rhrich Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 That’s ROVER. The RIO is watching an image transfer, so sadly he isn’t playing. 1
Rhrich Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 The nsfw part reminded me about the legendary Swedish anti uboat surveillance system. They put extremely good cameras with long range zoom capabilities to monitor their coastline and video tape anything suspicious. Right next to and overlooking some of the best beaches in Sweden. Then they asked 19-20 year old boys to run the system. With predictable results. 2
