My friends and I fly MP missions nightly.

 

since the last Beta update we’ve seen the following things when flying thr F14’s - either solo with idiot in the back or multicrew:

 

1. Taxi light and sometimes aircraft sounds not working until you press salute off the boat

2. Inability to manually lock a target with VSL low/high - the diamond bounces around and despite having the bogey steady up the the cross, it never locks on

3. Fire one sidewinder, but both leaves the rails at the same time.

4. 54C’s not tracking - even in ideal shot ranges, aspect and everything 1 kill for 5 missiles. Most just go off and don’t track

5. Human RIO can’t initiate calls to AWACS / BOAT / TANKER. Sometimes can’t continue calls to them after pilot initiates

6. Sparrows not tracking and coming off the rails two at a time. 
7. Afterburner deters (for thrustmaster warthog) completely out of position

8. Taking off with a requested armament, but when in air the missiles are different. 
9. (Supercarrier) burble almost non-existent

10. Idiot AI in the back continually dropping locks - especially as soon as you fire the missile or not locking up targets

11. Same idiot in the back AI that can’t call out accurate positions After the merge. 

 

Anyone else seeing the same as us?

I've played a lot of single player in the last week and haven't encountered anything like that (except 10 and 11 which is no worse than before). In fact, I've found Phoenix's are are much more reliable than a few patches ago. My guess would be you've got pretty multiplayer specific issues. Maybe if you post some specifics about the servers you play on and the kind of pings you get etc., someone who knows the multi environment better than I do can help.

5. RIO's radio has been bugged for me since i started flying the Tomcat (july 2020).

 

Human RIO can't initiate calls (AWACS etc.) unless the pilot has the same radio's main menu open.

I play with the same group of friends I always play with, on their servers, which we always play on. Nothing has changed in that sense.

A friend and I have experienced 4, 5, and 6.

 

54C's we've noticed that we need to be closer to our targets before launch. Mostly depends on target aspect, closure rate, direction, target size, and altitude. Better range than a -120 though. We've chalked it up to learning the practical range of the missile over just knowing the ideal condition maximums. We've never had two leave the rails at once though.

 

Sparrows have a general bug (except the -7MH) in that they go stupid when the target turns on a jammer, even if locked. The AI aircraft that carry jammers, turn them on immediately upon being locked up.  This puzzled us for a while, watching Sparrows leaving the rail and just going straight, even with a solid P-STT lock. I learned yesterday about the bug, and we switched to the -7MH which features a limited home on jam capability, and we went 2 for 2 on Sparrow shots. And similar to the 54's, we've never had two leave the rails at the same time.

 

The radio thing irritates me mostly as I fly as RIO. I can have the same freq cued up on my radio as on the pilot radio, and I get no responses to my calls. Once the pilot initiates a call to AWACS/tanker/mother, then I am usually able to talk to that object. Sometimes not. I do hope this gets fixed soon, as I feel a big part of my job as RIO is communicatios.
