Hi I am back again, in my quest to achieve a locked 60 frames per second I purchased an EVGA RTX 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra (Previously 1080Ti FTW3). I have this GPU paired with a 6 core i7 8700k at 5.1GHz, 32GB 3600 MHz DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD that has nothing else but DCS in it. I have (3) 1920x1080 60hz monitors that I used for sim racing that are pretty useful for DCS too. My combined resolution is 5760x1080. No matter the preset (Low or Max settings) my PC can not maintain 60fps.

I tried 1080p single screen and the experience is tad bit better but still dropping frames. On my triples if I fly low over a densely populated area (Beirut or big forests) my frame rate gets down to 34-35fps.  I have tried DDU clean installing the latest drivers, stopping unnecessary services, repair and reinstallation of DCS, disabled hot plug devices, cleared the fxo and metashaders folders but nothing has helped. Setting the sim to all low and all high minus the SSAA and the result is the same. I am really disappointed as this card was pretty expensive and I had high hopes.  If anyone has any suggestions I gladly appreciate it.  Thank you for your time.

Please try this:

  1. Go to "Saved Games/DCS.../Scripts".
  2. If you can find an Export.lua file, rename it so the game cannot find it (e.g." Export.lua.backup").
  3. Start DCS and look at your FPS.

Hi Flappie, I tried your suggestion and frame rate remained the same. I attached two screenshots showing the fps from the F-16 mission called "King of the Hill". One is set to low graphics and the other is max settings. Thank you.

Ok more testing, this is a screenshot of everything maxed out on 4K. Way better performance. I am not sure if there is a bug with multi-monitor support.

Just a quick question, are you using a second GPU to connect the displays? I did this years ago with the iGPU of my former Intel CPU. This reduced my FPS to 37 and capped it, independent of the settings. Disabling the iGPU did the trick. Same experience with a second Nvidia GPU. I'm exporting the MFCDs to 3 small displays and needed the extra connections. Using the 1080 Ti only I had at that times brought it to 52 FPS (I checked this with a mission of my choice to do the comparison). At least something to have a look at.
