FupDuck Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 I'm hoping to take the plunge into multiplayer soon, and everyone suggests that it's very important to understand IFF so you don't get in a friendly fire incident. I checked the Chucks guide and was surprised to find very little info on this. I see on the centre panel there's a button for IFF, but it doesn't seem to do much. So I guess my question is, what do I need to know about IFF in the Harrier before going multiplayer? Thanks! IFF in it's common meaning doesn't effect you, the AV-8B Night Attack doesn't have a radar, so doesn't have an IFF interrogator to quiz other aircraft if there're friend or foe. It does have a IFF transponder to reply to interrogations from other aircraft but in DCS, that's coalition (Blue/Red) based and isn't modelled other than the panel being shown in the cockpit. IFF in the Harrier means - using the RWR, TPOD, eyes, F10 map/briefing, etc. to identify targets before opening fire. buur Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 You are talking about multiplayer. So you have to use the SRS overlay. Toggle the radio overlay in SRS Client. Press on the red button right from Transponder. Then you have activated the transponder. Then you can add your mode 1 and 4 code for the multiplayer. The ATC will be grateful to you. At the moment IFF is not directly implemented in the Harrier, but Razbam will make the buttons working (hopefully) in the next time. 2

Thanks for that, SRS is my next thing to tackle! 1 "...I just wanna fly; put your arms around me baby, put your arms around me baby" - Sugar Ray RTX 3090, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, MSI MPG B550 Gaming mobo, 64 GB DDR4 RAM, 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD 2TB game drive, VKB STECS Standard throttle, Winwing Ursa Minor Fighter stick, Oculus Quest Pro via ersatz link cable, Standalone DCS. I'm looking into it as a personal matter, let's say. What do you mean it is not working? The IFF and I/P Button and clickable and they have a binding in the .lua file. Also the "IFF Function Selector" works and have a binding. For some reason they just do not nothing in DCS nor SRS/lotATC. I mean, there is the necessary to do a really basic stuff as "Turn IFF Off" or better, start the plane with it off and have to torn it on, as in many others, as it should be. Also other plane has basically the same I/P Button, meaning it can work, there is the possibility in DCS. Have Razbam sad something in this regards?

Thanatos31 Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Hey - IFF is being worked on by RAZBAM to make the buttons functional, timing unclear. In the meantime, just use SRS, Radio overlay, and then click "transponder on" and fill out the fields.
