He asked me a valid question which I could not answer. The question was if this FC is so good why would it not be distributed as Lock On was? I thought to myself, they only added one Russian aircraft and cleaned up some bug fixes and did some work on the American Planes etc. It is big enough to be a new game based on Lock On but I still could not answer his question. I like Lock On although I get very poor results with my system but as we all know there is more than just system specs. problems. We are putting on the same hat and I along with everyone else. His question still is stuck in my mind. My son is an Electronics Engineer. That is what's starting to make me think. Producing a game is all about MONEY! CIS gets a new box and two cd's. What do we get? North America is one of the biggest markets or very close to it. Food for thought. Rattler :!: :!:
DarkStar Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 ED does not own the rights to distribute in US or in Europe... bahs Ubi soft 8) hehe. in the end ED aren't allowed to sell a game with the name of Lock-On in western market... Ubi owns them in that area in Lock On's case..

SwingKid Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 In all fairness to Ubi, ED's development of Lock On didn't exactly break any speed records. IIRC the Il-2 sequel was even released while we were waiting for Lock On. As a publisher contemplating doing it all over again, you have to ask yourself how long you're willing to wait for that expected return on investment, when there are other avenues that respond more promptly. Not much mystery here IMHO. -SK
