Tuzlo Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 I am brand new to DCS do not have a HOTAS controller and am playing with a PS5 controller. Does anyone know where I can find a profile for the basic planes and A-10 planes for the PS5 controller for Windows? All I seem to do is crash, hoping to have some fun in this game
Furiz Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 I' love to help but no idea honestly. I'd suggest that if you can buy some cheap stick, or borrow one for a week or 2 and see if you like it.
despinoza Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 i think is doable using steam input, but even the chapest stick is a better option IMHO. Ryzen 3700x - 2080ti - 16GB 3200 - 500G SSD - OCULUS RIFT S
M1Combat Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 That controller will work fine I think... You'll catch some flak for sure but it's also super usable I think. I do use a full HOTAS myself but I can't imagine a PS5 controller wouldn't work pretty well. It'll be a bit sensitive just because of the short throw but you'll get used to that just fine. I mean ultimately it's a twin stick with a rudder axis and ALL of the buttons on the PS5 controller are axes... You should be fine. I would probably try to map throttle to something but it's honestly not so important in combat. It's used for sure... before anyone plays the noob card on me... but it's not super important and if you can put combat together in a modern fighter, no matter the controller... you'll find a way to use throttle just fine. I would go with roll/pitch on the left, rudder/yaw on the R2/L2, TDC on left stick to start... Try to keep only needed combat stuff on the controller and do KB/mouse for non combat stuff and cockpit buttons.
